This tutorial will guide you in detail how to remove the Apple A1965 / MacBook Air 13" Retina A1932 / A2179 (Late 2018-Early 2020) battery.
Step 2
Remove the Left Speaker
- Use a plastic spatula or spudger to gently pry the left speaker apart and remove it.
- It will be easier to dissolve the adhesive by using alcohol or adhesive remover appropriately.
NOTE: When removing the speaker, be careful to disconnect it from the logic board.
Step 3
Remove the Right Speaker
- Use a plastic spatula or spudger to gently pry the right speaker apart and remove it.
- It will be easier to dissolve the adhesive by using alcohol or adhesive remover appropriately.

Step 5
Disconnect the Battery Connector
Disconnect the battery connector from the logic board as shown.
Step 6
Remove the Screws on the Battery
Remove the four screws on both sides of the battery as shown.
Step 7
Remove the Battery
- Use a plastic spatula to slowly pry the battery out.
- When removing the battery, gently thread it through the trackpad cable.
NOTE: This process requires patience. You can use alcohol or adhesive remover to dissolve the adhesive and make it easier to remove the battery.
Step 8
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery into the battery compartment and install it in the reverse order of the above steps.
Please NOTE: If your MacBook shows any irregular behavior after installing the new battery, consider resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) to resolve the issue.
