Step 1
Remove the Bottom Case
- Using a P5 Pentalobe screwdriver, remove the ten screws securing the bottom case.
- Gently remove the bottom case.
Tips: Shut down and close your MacBook. Lay it on a soft surface top-side down.
Step 2
Disconnect the Battery Connector
Use a spudger to gently pry the battery connector upward to disconnect it from its socket on the logic board.
Step 3
Remove the Screws on the Battery
Remove the five screws on the battery as shown.
Step 4
Remove the Battery
Lift the battery from its edge nearest the logic board and remove it.
Step 5
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery into the battery compartment and install it in the reverse order of the above steps.
